Commission for Biotechnology and Genetic Resources (CBGE)
Commission for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering
1. Establishment:
The commission for biotechnology was established in 9/2/1993 as research unit in order to solve economical, environmental, health and nutritional problems using modern biotechnical research techniques with special emphasis on the applied research. The commission also acts as the focal point of some regional and international networking such as the African Agency for Biotechnology (AAB), InterIslamic Network for Genetic Engineering (IIGE) and the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB).
